| Max came to live at Kaos via the
Los Angeles County Animal Control system. While cruising
www.petfinder.com one day,
I saw a picture of this laughing red boy who was incarcerated at
the pound. I feel in love with his picture and persuaded
Sean the he could be my birthday present that year. I found
him a place to live while we bought a house and things rolled along from there. It
took some coordination, and the assistance of my boss, but
we managed to be at the LA Shelter the morning he was available (I
was in Pittsburgh...but it all worked out).
Although we don't know where he came from, we
suspect that Max has some experience in harness. Why?
Well, how many pound dogs know gee and haw, hike and whoa?
Max LOVES to be in harness, whether it's the cart or a sled and
snow.
Max is one of our more dominant dogs, benevolently
controlling the happenings in the yard, keeping the youngsters in
line and teaching Ryder how to be in charge. He's almost the
perfect house dog (he's got that boy habit still) and sleeps right
beside me on the bed. Now that Ryder is sharing the workload
of running Kaos, Max
plays like a puppy, as if, by having passed the mantel of responsibility on
he's free to enjoy a second puppy-hood here at Kaos
We got very lucky the day Max became a Kaos
Siberian. We know it and, should we forget, he'll remind us!
